Chicago Data Night - Milan McGraw (AWS)

I just need to be so honest about this one here. After the good words I had to say about Tech Pulse yesterday, I am extremely disappointed by this Chicago Data Night. This was the worst Chicago Data Night I have ever attended. But, before getting into that, I want to talk about getting there! This was my first time taking the Metra! It was great, really simple. I got on the Van Buren station and had a Metra worker help me out. I got the whole day pass for $7.50, I think that is a really good deal. Unlike usual Chicago Data Nights, this one was actually at the university rather than in the West Loop. I always hated getting to University of Chicago, because you have to get on the Red Line and then the Garfield bus and it takes forever. The Metra made it so easy, and I might take more trips down in the future.

I do really enjoy the university campus, it is beautiful. I go to places like that and I am like “Woah, I would live here.” Honestly the best part of this event was being able to go to the university. Listening to an AI shill just lie directly to a live audience and contradict himself was not enjoyable. I really hope they improve for next time. Apparently the next one will be about saving the environment! So, I am excited!
